Wedding Invitation Wording Guidance

The Main Invitation

Your main invitation needs to include your names, your wedding date and time, and your venue name and location. It should not include your wedding website, the exact address of your venue, or any registry information.

The Details Card

Your details card should include any information your guests need to know. This may include: hotel names, addresses, and book-by date; wedding website url; travel information;  wedding weekend events; etc. The point of this card is to inform and enable your guests to prepare for your event.

  1. Your details card should never include registry information

  2. Details cards' headers can be: "Details", "Accommodations", "Everything you need to know", "All of the Details", etc.

The RSVP Card

This should include any and all events which you need to know exactly who will be attending

  1. If you have entrée choices, please include those options. Also note if you are offering a children's meal option

  2. If you would like to have a space for guests to note any food allergies, please indicate that

  3. Please let us know how traditional or non-traditional you would like the header. Examples include: "RSVP", "Kindly Respond", "Join Us", "Share in Our Joy,” etc.

The Rehearsal Invitation Card

Your rehearsal card should include the relevant dates, times, locations, etc. of your rehearsal and/or rehearsal dinner. The language/tone of the rehearsal card should match that of your main invite and details card.

  1. Please let us know how traditional or non-traditional you would like the header. Examples include: “Rehearsal”, "Rehearsal Dinner", "Rehearsal Fiesta", "Let’s Party!", etc.

  2. It’s traditional to add a line dedicated to the hosts or couple paying for the rehearsal dinner;

  3. We can also create a separate RSVP card for the guests receiving the rehearsal card, which includes another line for their rehearsal dinner rsvp.
