Our Story

We are a full service, boutique design and letterpress studio. We specialize in bespoke, luxury weddings creating everything from save the dates, invitations, day-of stationery, handcrafted guest books, thank you cards, and more.

The other half of our studio is Type A Branding where we work with clients ranging from Fortune 500 companies to small solo-preneurs on creating modern iconic brands.

We pride ourselves on bringing individual’s unique brands to life through modern sophisticated, and thoughtful design. Every element has a purpose, a meaning. Nothing is designed simply to be aesthetically pleasing; we go deeper. We don’t try to fit our clients into a box. We use our expertise to help tell our client’s story; we don’t use their stories to tell our own.

Type A is proud to be a small, woman-owned business serving clients worldwide. Our team creates in our studio based just outside of Washington, D.C. in Silver Spring, MD. When you work with Type A, you are directly supporting all four of us below, and we think that’s pretty awesome. Get to know us. We think you’ll agree!

ASHLEIGH ROBINSON

Founder & Creative Director

Ashleigh is an award winning artist and professionally trained graphic designer. She started Type A out of a love for creating art with her hands and bringing joy to people’s lives with design. A lifelong Marylander, she and her hubby, Brian, are nesting in their first home in Silver Spring, Maryland with their dog Izzi and cat Aroara. In her free time, she enjoys riding her Harley alongside her husband on adventures, reading dystopian fiction, and spending time with family.

Ashleigh graduated with honors from the Corcoran College of Art + Design with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree.

BRIAN ROBINSON

Senior Vice President

Plumber by day, Type A’s champion by night. Brian’s undying support of Ashleigh and her business from the time it was just a dream without a name, has been the quiet propellent of Type A’s success. Whether it’s helping line envelopes, cut paper, or build custom studio walls (yes!), he is always helping with anything and everything. Sipping whiskey, riding machines, and catching sunsets with Ashleigh and the hound are Brian’s favorite things.

Also a lifelong Marylander, Brian graduated from Allegany College of Maryland with a Certificate in Auto Tech.

REBECCA ODELL

Executive Assistant & Director of Email Marketing

Rebecca brings 10 years of email marketing experience along with an inherent gift for organization! A native of New England, she’s placed her roots in Northern Virginia with her hubby, Petar, their fur babies, Boots and George, and a brand new baby girl, Evie Brooke!

Rebecca graduated from University of Maryland College Park with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. She went on to study at the George Washington University - School of Business to receive a Master’s Certificate in Project Management.

EMMA MAZZUCA

Junior Graphic Designer & Production Artist

Emma is a recent college graduate and the newest member of our team. After four years exploring New Orleans, she's excited to be back home in Maryland. She spends her free time designing, reading, and snuggling her three cats.

Emma graduated magna cum laude from Loyola University New Orleans with a Bachelor of Design, majoring in Graphic Design and minoring in Marketing.

Type A’s studio is 100% powered by clean energy. We are committed to lessening our environmental footprint on our precious earth and are proud to have all of our energy sourced from solar, wind, and natural gas. We also pay to offset our carbon footprint from our studio’s energy use as well as our freight shipments.
