Type A's Wedding Stationery Timeline
One of the most asked question we receive from newly engaged couples, is when should we order our invitations? And when should we send them out?! Below we’ve detailed Type A’s timeline and process so you know exactly when everything should happen!
1 YEAR AHEAD OR MORE
Begin looking through our work, Instagram, bridal magazines, wedding blogs/websites, and Pinterest to get an idea of what you like. Print or save anything that catches your eye! Mood boards, journals, and wedding binders are great for keeping all your ideas organized.
6 - 9 MONTHS AHEAD
Fill out a wedding inquiry form so that you can schedule your complimentary consultation with Type A’s Founder, Ashleigh Robinson. You’ll meet either in -person or over the phone to discuss design ideas, print processes, and custom options. After your consult, you’ll receive an online curated pricing brochure from which you create your own package.
Save-the-Dates are started right away! We recommend ordering them as soon you have your date and venue. Then sending them out asap, especially for a destination wedding.
4 - 5 MONTHS AHEAD
Invitation design begins! We work with you to perfect all the little details, including wording. You’ll virtually critique digital renderings until they are just right.
3 - 4 MONTHS AHEAD
Production sign-off. Local couples have the option to meet in person to review a digitally printed, hard copy proof of their wedding invitation suite. All other couples will virtually approve the digital renderings. Sign off for production happens digitally via Honeybook. Once we receive sign-off, all invitation suites are produced.
2 - 3 MONTHS AHEAD
Receive your invitation suites 10 weeks before your big day (unless other timelines have been agreed upon). Guest should have your invitations in-hand 6-8 weeks before your big day (any earlier and they’ll sit on their reply cards and maybe even forget to reply!). So, be sure to stamp and mail your invitations 8-9 weeks prior. Or, you could take advantage of our stuffing, stamping, sealing, and mailing services! We’ll handle all of the assembly and mailing for you to make sure your invitations are mailed perfectly and on time.
1 - 2 MONTHS AHEAD
Order all day-of stationery pieces – such as menus, table number, place cards, and programs – as well as thank you cards.
1 WEEK BEFORE
Receive your day-of stationery packaged and ready for the big day!
